Pottery Studio at English Field Pottery
In August of 2018 I started getting a room ready to fulfill my dream of 50 years, my own studio. It was a room I added to the back of my house, about 10 X 10 feet, plenty of room for what I wanted, so I thought. Today I am using 7 rooms for my studio and I am in the process of adding one more. I hope that you enjoy looking around my studio by way of a few pictures.
This is my main working area, it is here that I create all of my pots. This in my furnace room at home. It got too cold my first winter so I move in here and have never moved out. it is very cozy for me.
Pots drying after trimming.
I use an old fridge as a damp box to keep pots from drying out to fast
Glazing Pots - I dip most of my pots, I feel that it gives me a even coating of the glaze. It is important to have the glaze at the right consistency, like light cream. After I glaze the pot I clean the bottom to insure that the pot does not stick to the shelf of the kiln when the glazes melts during the firing.
Show Room - This is my sales store, it will open for 2021.
